Image
Ready to go inside Delivery Suite.  As an expat parent living in Malaysia, perhaps this write-up can help everyone to decide where to deliver their most precious little ones. This time around, allow me to express my notes of experiences with one of the best Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O & G) in Johor Bahru or perhaps in Malaysia for his gentle and good coaching during the delivery of our second baby at Kempas Medical Centre in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. By the time we suspected that we have a new baby, it was actually Dr. Kevin Bartholomew Lawson who confirmed it. From there, we continued to monitor the growth and development of our baby from 6 weeks old onwards until we finally heard our baby’s heartbeat, identified her gender, and monitored her weight until she was finally delivered.   I was at my workplace when my wife told me that her contraction comes in frequently. I packed my things and ask permission from my superior to have an early time off. My wife messaged

Seeing All Those Smiles During Ramadan CSR Event

Just like a good soldier, I have to do my role.  Hence, I would like to share this experience of mine during our participation in the Corporate Social Responsibility event initiated by a Granada Hotel here in Johor Bahru. HODs from Granada Hotel Group and HISB Representative together with Iron Man, Spider Man and Darth Vader.  May 25, 2018, marks the day when I had the chance to mingle to about 80 children from Pertubuhan Sosial dan Kebajikan Sari Saujana and Rumah Anak Yatim Raudhatul Maryam and had a Ramadan buffet with them as initiated by Granada Hotel in Johor Bahru.  I am a Christian but this doesn’t mean that I should shut my door in participating in this event. Our company supported this program by providing a free transportation service to fetch the children aged five to sixteen years for this event from their respective charity homes. I am happy as I witnessed those smiles from these children while enjoying every second of the Ramadan Buffet prepared by the

About Income Tax: Working Foreign Spouse in Malaysia

Image
As a follow up to my article about “ Work Endorsement Allows Foreign Spouses To Legally Work in Malaysia” , I want to touch an article about the filing taxes for foreign spouses. As everybody knows, e-filing for taxes in Malaysia is once a year. The last submission is every 30 th  of April of the year for manual form but for e-filling, the last submission is on the 15 th  of May  (this was based on the filing assessment for the year 2017). Income Tax Registration Page from LHDN website.  My experience with this situation was a mixed emotion because at first, I was deducted with 28% on my monthly salary (2016). Accordingly, this was due to the pending 182 days of my stay in Malaysia from the day I entered the country. The deductions were reflected in my monthly salary slip under PCB. So after my 182nd day, our payroll had already deducted a normal PCB (less deduction) in my monthly salary. Our company payroll is the one deducting for me. My wife was the one keeping

"In union, there is a strength".  "United we stand, divided we fall". These two particular sayings were true to what has been transpired during the case of one of the Pinay Teacher who was admitted in one of the hospitals in Johor Bahru due to heart palpitation.  If you remember, one of the posts in this blog was about her (Give a little to Teacher Mavelyn)   when she was admitted in the mid-month of March 2018. And guys, on behalf of the editorial team of “Love Beyond Border”, we would like to give an update about her: Here is her statement from her group: “Hi everyone! Thank you all for blessing our family. I'm overwhelmed by your prayers and concern. Pati ung hindi ko pa na-meet or wala dito sa group they also contributed in helping us. May God bless you double portion! Again salamat sa inyo”. Created thank you message for the prayers and cash donation  given to Ate Mavs from her CCC Filipino Group.  She is already fine and is already

Mrs. Mavelyn and her family. A Filipina who is currently based in Johor, Malaysia had been rushed to KPJ Puteri Hospital Johor Bahru on March 16, 2018 due to heart palpitation. Her colleagues brought her to the hospital at around 5 PM due to her difficulty in breathing and the doctor diagnosed her with mild stroke. She was advised to stay first in the hospital for a few days but due to medical expenses, she opted to stay and rest at their rented apartment in Johor Bahru (JB). She is required to undergo a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to properly check other possible cause regarding her health condition.  Her husband, a construction firm project supervisor in Singapore was forced to take a leave to take good care of their two daughters (both 14 and 8 years old).  The couple needs prayers and financial support to undergo MRI scan process as per prescribed by her doctor including medications for her to fully recover.
