Inside the Immigration Office.
In relation to the article posted in the blog about “Acquiring Spouse Visa in Malaysia” last January 2016, I forgot to provide a follow-up article on this especially for Spouses who are qualified for a job or who have a job offers from various companies in Malaysia.

To cut the story short, Spouses with job offers are allowed to work legally in Malaysia. All you have to do is to prepare the following documents to obtain a Work Endorsement from the Immigration Office where you've took your Multiple Entry Visa or “Immigration Regulation 1963 VISA PASS (social) Reg.11(10).

  • Kontrak Pekerjaan Perlu Duti Sestem RM10 di Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN). Your data must include (a.)Jawatan / position (b.)  Gaji yang Ditawarkan (Salary offered) (c.)  Tempoh Bekerja/ Duration
  • Lesen Perniagaan yang sah/ Pendaftaran Syarikat (Borang 9, 24 dan 49). This refers to Company Registration – Form 9, 24, & 49
  • Borang Permohonan (application form)). This will be obtained at the Immigration office to be notarized by a lawyer (about RM6-8). You need to bring with you a passport photo as part of this Application form Requirements.
  • Surat Kebeneran Bekerja Daripada Suami/ Isteri Warganegara (Permission Letter to work from Malaysian Spouse. The content of the letter must have the following:

The processing for this application is within the day. Make sure that you are early during your application.

Filipinos who are under Work Endorsement Programme does not need to register to the Philippine Embassy OFW desk since you are not an Overseas Filipino Worker. But if you want to contribute for your PhilHealth or SSS, there is a help desk there for you to inquire. They will advise you on the places/ location where to pay your contributions.

  2. Hello. First of, I want to thank you for all the helpful info you have provided in your blog. I have been following you since 2016, after I proposed to my then-gf (now wife). I found it very helpful because I am in the same boat as you, I'm Filipino married to a local Malaysian-Chinese.

Thanks to the steps in this blog. I was able to obtain prepare my documents for marriage cert and getting my LTSVP. I have a job offer and want to process the work endorsement soon.

I have a question about the work endorsement taxation. Do you contribute manually yourself to the Malaysian tax or does your company do it for you? If so, what is the process for that. Thank you in advance for your help.

    1. I am sorry for this late reply.

With regards to the taxation, your company will deduct it from your monthly salary as "PCB". LHDN will follow a certain guidelines then at the end of the year you will be given an EA Form to be determined by your internal payroll. This AE form will be used as guide when you file your income tax at the LHDN office.
